Escude was a fine player with some notable wins. He held his nerve to seal France’s epic 2001 Davis Cup win and won 4 career titles with wins over Federer, Henman and Ljubicic.

He won 2 doubles titles and also reached the quarter and semi finals in 3 Grand Slams.
