What to Read This Week

By Crossstitchyourheart @TMNienaber

In the months where I’ve been taking a break from the WtRtW posts I’ve saved so much money from buying books.  I’ve actually even made a little progress on my to-read list.  Unfortunately all that has ended and I’m back to adding books onto my list of books to read and making no progress whatsoever.  Well…that’s the life of a book lover.

17331334
The Whole Golden World by Kristina Riggle: I saw this book advertised on Goodreads and something about the cover just drew me to it, I’m not sure why, I think it’s all the golden dots that look like epic Christmas.  Diana and Joe have a perfect life, until their oldest daughter gets them caught up in a scandal.  Meghan is having an affair with her teacher, but when it comes time to go to court Meghan doesn’t take her parents side and play the victim, instead, she takes the side of her teacher, and stands firm to her statement that she is a woman in love.  While the teacher-student relationship issue is a tough one to write about without sensationalizing, the reviews of this book give me hope that Riggle has actually done something original and I’m looking forward to reading it and seeing what happens.

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier: This is another book that needs to go on my “books I

needed to read sooner list”.  I’ve listened to the radio play (I think Boris Karloff played Max, but as much as you can enjoy interpretations of a novel I’m a firm believer that the novel should be read eventually.  Like Jane Eyre this is the book about a girl who finds herself married to her employer, but unlike Jane Rebecca doesn’t find out his secret until after the wedding.  And housekeeper isn’t nearly as nice…

So what’s on your to read list this week?
