Tonight, Harbor docks in Destin will celebrate their 23rd Annual Charity Auction that will benefit Take-A-Kid-Fishing Day. The Charity makes it possible for children to spend a day onboard a Destin charter boat to enjoy a day of fishing.
Last year more than three hundred children that would normally not be able to have the opportunity, hopped on board, and enjoyed fishing the waters in and around Destin.
Children that learn to fish can learn to appreciate nature while unplugging from constant technology. In the right environment, fishing can also teach morals and ethics, patience, as well as balance and coordination.
The fishing trip for the children is free and reservations are accepted until all spots are filled. Children ages 7-13 years old are welcomed to sign up.
To reserve a slot, please call 850-837-2506 and ask for Jackie between 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Include the child’s name, parent’s name, phone number, emergency contact, and the age of the child. Pre-registration is required.
Boarding times will be assigned when reservations are made. All kids participating will receive a t-shirt, rod, reel, and a delicious family fish fry.
