What to Buy for the Makeup Lover

By Bambileigh

If you have a friend/sister/girlfriend/whatever who loves to slap on the goop but you aren’t that into makeup you might be stuggling when it comes to getting them a Christmas present… HAVE NO FEAR – I’m here to help!

If you never wear makeup the chances are you have no idea what you’re looking for, and I know that asking staff for help isn’t always an option… some of the girls in drugstores can come across so bitchy! But fortunately for you instead of wandering around for hours and trying to seperate the good brands from the crappy ones (I’m looking at you 2true), gift sets were invented!

I’ve had a browse on some of my favorite store’s sites and found a few gift sets that I’d be more than happy to be given for Christmas! Let’s point out that this is not a sponsered post. I like all of the ones I’m about to show you, but I really love this one…

I may even have to buy it for myself when I get paid tomorrow. This is the Sleek Party Box (which you can find here… email me for my address!) and includes:

Precious Metals Highlighting Palette (RRP £9.99)
I-Divine Storm Palette (RRP £7.99)
Blush by 3 – Pink Lemonade, (RRP £9.99)
Gloss Me – Hawaii Honey , (RRP £4.99)
Full Fat Lash mascara, (RRP £6.99)
Brow Kit – Dark, (RRP £8.49)
Eye & Cheek – See You At Midnight (RRP £9.99)

…all for £30! That’s over £50 worth of product there people! I’m really excited about this, and I may cry if I can’t get it.

I shouldn’t have started with the Sleek stuff. Everything seems boring in comparison! This is still a pretty good little pressie though, especially for the price. And look at the handles – so cute! The set contains:

1 x Flat Concealer brush
1 x Buffing Concealer brush
1 x Precision Foundation brush
1 x Complexion Blending brush

which are meant to help give you that flawless complexion that everyone is after! Find it here.

Ooooh everyone loves a bit of Soap & Glory! Eyeshadow is quite a personal thing but you can’t really go wrong with a good neutral palette. Even if you always see them wearing bright and wacky colours, it’s always good to have shades like these in your collection – they’re great blending colours if nothing else! The shades are:

• LID STUFF™ EYE SHADOW in VANILLA 0.8g
• LID STUFF™ EYE SHADOW in MINKY 0.8g
• LID STUFF™ EYE SHADOW in PINK T 0.8g
• LID STUFF™ EYE SHADOW in AUBERSHEEN 0.8g
• LID STUFF™ EYE SHADOW in GOLD COAST 0.8g
• LID STUFF™ EYE SHADOW in TAUPE CAT 0.8g
• LID STUFF™ EYE SHADOW in SUNSET 0.8g
• LID STUFF™ EYE SHADOW in BROWNIE 0.8g
• LID STUFF™ EYE SHADOW in BLACK GOLD 0.8g
• LID STUFF™ EYE SHADOW in SMOKIN’ 0.8g

…I really like that they’re called lid stuff instead of eyeshadow – make a nice change! Find this baby here.

I’ve heard great, great things about the Smashbox base products. Especially the primers. This is another gift set that you can’t really go wrong with, even more so because of the price. Even if the recipient doesn’t really use a primer they should still feel comfortable trying these out because Smashbox is such a well known brand. There was quite a bit of hype not too long ago about Smashbox primers too! Find it here.

Would you buy any of these products as a Christmas gift? Which one would you like to recieve the most? Let me know!
