What's In My Make-Up Bag - Face and Eyes - Part One.
As well as fashion, beauty is one of the biggest parts of my day-to-day routine. The products in my (rather large) make-up bag have quite a variety of top end and drugstore products.
To being with, my face products. I have two foundations and one primer in my make-up bag. First of all, the famously raved about 'Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum' in the shade 51 Vanille Claire. I love this foundation but to be honest it is on the yellow side. More for olive and yellow undertones, being a pale Irish skin girly I have more pink and neutral undertones. So for that reason I will either blend it out and mix it with my 'Simple Hydrating Moisturiser'. The other foundation I have in my make-up bag, is a luxury product. Dior's 'Dior Skin BB Cream' in 001. This product does retail at £25.50 which for most people is absolutely crazy! - Which it is! But This BB cream is very good at what it's meant to do. Giving a medium coverage but feeling very nice on your skin and pretty much staying on your face all day, I would recommend it.For powders I try and keep it to the minimum in my main make-up bag as usually the packaging takes up quite a lot of space and I don't tend to use it that much. At the moment I have been using Rimmel's Stay Matte Powder. Although in the blogging world this product is highly raved about, I find it gives of a very cakey finish and think - not a fan. As of blush and highlighter I am currently LOVING Estee Lauder Silky Blush in 11, Nude Rose and Yves Saint Laurent Palette Metallic Colorama Power Highlighter. I actually got these products a while ago. So long ago that I don't even think you can buy them anymore. After shopping my stash one day I found these and have been wearing them all the time. Both the blush and highlighter are very subtle yet very buildable. Each gives a very natural finish and look stunning in a good lighting studio.
Moving onto eyes. I personally love eye make-up the most. I think it's amazing what a bit of eyeliner and mascara can do - *claps for liner*.In my make-up bag I like to carry a few different products with me depending on where I am going. Most of the time I will keep both of my favorite eyeliners with me as they don't take up much room and are very light - obvously. Usually I will carry Collection's Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in 01, Black and either Soap&Glory's Thick and Fast mascara or L'oreal Volume Collagen mascara. I am obsessed with both of these mascaras, they both pretty much do the same thing if I'm honest, giving a very natural yet full volume. But hoarders like myself have to have both - right? However, if I am going for a more dramatic look I love using Maybelline Rocket mascara. Again a very well known product in the beauty community and although I do like this mascara it is very hard to get right. I find that it can clump if you don't curl your lashes and apply carefully. This point leads me very nicely onto one of my favorite things in my make-up bag- the No.7 Lift and Curve Eyelash Curlers. I am always really impressed with the look it gives my eyes, especially in the morning when I'm super tired, it always really livens my eyes up - YAY! On the topic of tired eyes, I have two very lovely concealers in my bag that I absolutely adore. I have Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair and Benefit's Boi-ing Concealer, in Light. Both of these concealers have an amazing coverage and really do hide any redness and blemishes.
As this post is getting super long, I will cut it into two parts. The second part will be up in the next two days. What's In My Make-Up Bag - Face and Eyes - Part One.
