What Makes Offline, Online Marketing Effective? You.

I recently attended the hugely impressive Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas, with 108,000 other people from around the world.

What made it possible for me to calmly stroll along 2,500 exhibits from 43 countries, view a fleet of helicopters for sale (you have to fly your manpower out to the offshore deepwater platforms), and be informed as I met with 12 new qualified leads and as many prospects in one day? I also easily found my luncheon table, and heard a keynote on Deepwater Brownfields (fields with some development).
What made this rich offline experience possible? The elegant OTC 2014 mobile app in the palm of my hand. It was beautifully designed to be comprehensive and useful.

Download it here and drive it around.

Equally elegant and effective was the OTC 2014 theme, simply stated:
“Come Together.”

And we did come together. To innovate, dialog, and move the offshore oil and gas industry forward safely, sustainably and with consideration of environmental protection. Oh, and the Annual OTC Dinner, attended by 1,000+ people, raised USD $250,000 for Medical Bridges. I guess after 46 years in a cyclical industry, you get it right.

Speaking of which, this month is the hotel industry’s 42nd annual HITEC conference in Los Angeles. Register here and join us at the Los Angeles Convention Center June 23 to 26.

Are you exhibiting at HITEC? As you plan your strategy, consider giving visitors and prospects an offline – online experience. One idea is a simple card, with your branded message, and a QR Code that jumps them to your website for more information. Here’s an example.

Want one for your company? Please give us a shout, and we’ll help you create a card that stimulates the dialog around your brand, and increases your sales.

See you at HITEC in Los Angeles, and travel well.
