My go-to errand running outfit is exactly this - a knit dress (with a pair of Thigh Society underneath), my Adidas shelltops or some sandals, a pair of sunglasses and a big tote to carry all my purchases. Karl captured these shots when we were at the Greenbelt Farmers Market. A shopping destination as well as a dining one and a social one, there's plenty of vendors for food and drink (like Zeke's which is where I got my iced coffee). There's plenty of neighbors to bump into and chat with, and a shady hill with a view of the market where we all sit and have brunch or lunch while the kids climb trees and chase each other.

This dress was a favorite on the trip because it's a spongy stretchy knit that didn't get misshapen from sitting in the car all day. I'd throw on with my silver Birkenstocks for the drive, but could change the look pretty quickly by adding accessories and changing my shoes. Gap calls this knit softspun and I really dig it. Seems others do too for they have plenty of new arrivals in the same fabric like this 3/4 sleeve a-line dress with a flattering neckline, this tank-style midi dress that is so versatile and would be amazing for travel, this banded skirt tank dress, and this midi cami dress that would be nice on its own or worn over a fitted tee which is back on trend (the '90s are back in a big way!). Do know this dress runs large, doesn't shrink when washed, and can handle being thrown in the washer with jeans and towels and then a burning hot industrial dryer in Albuquerque with jeans and velcro and terry and come out looking exactly the same.
