This fall, the menswear trend will be very popular. Expect to see it in inspired fabrics, masculine silhouettes along with houndstooth, plaid, tweed and other masculine fabrics. While this trend lends itself beautifully for the workplace, it can look very masculine. The menswear trend looks balanced on women when it is paired with some softness through things like silhouettes, colors and feminine touches.
For tonight’s post in this series I am going to show you how you embrace the menswear trend for the office while still feeling like woman.
Feminizing the Menswear Trend

This houndstooth pattern is feminized in this dress by Calvin Klein. Additional softness is added the outfit through the pop of turquoise in the blazer by Mango and yellow Bandolino pumps. The look is finished with versatile black stud earrings, a simple gold pendant necklace from Max & Chloe and a black handbag.

Tweed, an easy workplace fabric, is feminized in elegant silhouettes, like in this skirt from Max Studio. The slate blue of the skirt can potentially look very somber, but, to further elevate the look, a soft blouse, deep burgundy, comfortable Soft Style slingbacks and deco-inspired gold tassel necklace in navy and gold complements the color of the skirt with a pop. Lastly, the grey handbag brings in some conservative, rich color.

Instead of a basic blazer in menswear fabrics, choose a more feminine silhouette, like this peplum blazer from J. Crew which works great with a basic pencil skirt or a tailored pair of pants. To liven up the outfit, a bright pump from Anthropologie is added and the look is softened with a raw edge ruffle top from Reiss. For accessories, muted grey, in earrings and and a handbag from Modcloth, add a subtle, yet elegant, finish.
