Shot with my pre-DSLR Panasonic DMC-FZ30 during the 2006 Vertical Challenge helicopter airshow put on by the Hiller Aviation Museum.  This French five seat helicopter first flew in 1967, and was introduced to service in 1973.  The Gazelle served with all branches of the British armed forces—the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy (including in support of the Royal Marines) and the British Army in a variety of roles, seeing action in the Falklands, Afghanistan and the Gulf War. In 2016 the Ministry of Defence announced that the UK Army Air Corps’ AH.1s would remain in service for a further nine years, taking the Gazelle past its 50th anniversary in UK military service and making it the oldest helicopter in active UK inventory.  Panasonic DMC-FZ30, processed with Aperture.
