Well Hello Again
In case you haven't noticed, this blog has been quiet. Very quiet. I gave myself two weeks of vacation, badly needed. We go back into business tomorrow, with two performances in the city: the MET Orchestra at Carnegie Hall and Das Rheingold with Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic.
Yes, I had a nice holiday, working for two weeks at an event in Maryland. Although I brought scores and headphones and music, my days and nights were otherwise occupied. However, there will be some recording reviews coming up in the next few weeks, with symphony cycles from Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Andris Nelsons at the fore.
There's also the forthcoming Memories of the Gilbert Administration, our post commemorating Alan Gilbert's eight years at the helm of the New York Philharmonic. Summer festival previews are also on the horizon as we prepare for the slightly less hectic festival season.
Thank you all for your patience.
