Weekly Round Up 07/03/14As usual my weekly round up will bring you some of my favorite recipes along with interesting stories and things that have happened to me this last week. So I will start with the recipes which are all pictured above and detailed below (starting top left hand corner and working back and forward):

  • Avocado Chocolate Cookies from Thank Your Body - this is a really interesting twist on chocolate cookies and some I can't wait to try.
  • These Chocolate Chunk Cookie Bars from GI365 are gluten free and look oh so yummy. It is not a vegan recipe but just need to replace the egg with a vegan alternative and there we have it.
  • I have never heard of XO Sauce before and this vegan recipe from One Ingredient Chef certainly makes me want to give it a try, another winner from a great blog.
  • With it being pancake day on Tuesday I did not think it would be right to not include a pancake recipe and I love the look of these Overnight Blueberry Pancakes from Vegan Mother Hubbard.
  • I love spicy food and this Hot Pepper Tofu from the Simple Veganista looks like the perfect meal for any occasion
  • Chocolate Covered Pretzel Peanut Butter from the Minimalist Baker - do I need to say anything else!
  • This 3 ingredient Ginger Latteis another offering from the Minimalist Baker and one that looks so simple to make I just have to give it a try.
  • Double Chocolate Cake Doughnuts from GI365 are another gluten-free recipe from this great blog and just show what you can do with gluten-free foods now.
  • I love Bit Of The Good Stuff, Sharon's recipes are really down to earth and inspiring and this Coconut Chocolate Bark with Goji Berries and Pecans is no exception. The perfect treat to keep in the fridge.

So now on to other things for the week:

  • I have to start with the fact I had an image published on Foodgawker, well actually 2 which is great as I thought I would not be able to manage it this quickly.
  • We discovered this week that my cat is mad about massages. We have started using a special massage brush on him and he will actually pick it up and demand massages.
  • I have preordered my copy of the Oh She Glows cookbook which should be arriving at my home on 15th March which I am sadly very excited about.
  • A read a great article on Pickles & Honey which was a book review of a short book about vivisection and sounds like it is definitely worth a ready.
  • My mom had a cluster of seizures this week and so most of my time has been occupied with that.
  • I discovered that too much protein, particularly animal protein is bad for you. I will be doing a bit more research on this and will hopefully do a full article soon.
