Hello fellow geeks! Welcome to the first of a weekly article I'll be doing on Blu-Ray/4K Ultra HD/Digital film and television releases. While I won't be noting everything released for a particular week, I'll be highlighting some of the more notable ones. I'll also include a brief description of the film, the main actors/actresses and director, whether or not I've seen it, and a Rotten Tomatoes/MetaCritic score for those who like that kind of thing. What It's About: A remake of the 1984 hit film, four women create a paranormal investigative unit and look to save NYC from complete spectral annihilation.

The Legend of Tarzan

Starring: Margot Robbie, Alexander Skarsgard, Christof Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Jim Broadbent, Djimon Hounsou

What It's About: A new take on the titular character created by author Edgar Rice Burroughs. This latest iteration finds Tarzan returning to Africa to investigate developments in the Congo. Although Tarzan, now Earl of Greystoke, wishes to leave his past behind, he's drawn into a web of intrigue and corruption he can't avoid.

What's It's About: The fifth edition in the Ice Age film franchise, this fourth sequel finds Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, and Peaches weathering an asteroid strike and trying to prevent global extinction.

What's It About: A scientific research group based in Antarctica confront an alien buried in the ice for 100,000 years that can imitate anything it touches.

Have I Seen It: Hell yes! Multiple times. I've had things to say about this movie before.

Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party

What It's About: A conservative documentary of 2016 Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and the history of the Democratic Party.

Miami Vice: The Complete Series

What It's About: All five seasons and 112 episodes of the hit 1980s television show about two undercover cops managing their way through the seedy underbelly of the Miami crime world.

Have I Seen It: Despite growing up in the 1980s and 90s, no I have not.

Blood Father

Starring: Mel Gibson, Erin Moriarty, William H. Macy

What It's About: Recovering alcoholic and ex-con John Link is surprised one day by the return of his estranged teenage daughter Lydia. Unfortunately, Lydia has gotten mixed up in the Mexican cartel and it's up to John to keep her safe.

What It's About: Based on the autobiography written by U.S. Customs Agent Robert Mazur, the film relays Mazur's attempts in the 1980s to bust drug lord Pablo Escobar's money laundering operation.

Knight Rider: The Complete Series

What It's About: All four seasons and 90 episodes of the classic 1980s television show starring The Hoff. After a near fatal shot to the face, Detective Michael Arthur Long is given plastic surgery and employed by billionaire Wilton Knight to be the primary field agent in a new public justice organization called FLAG. Taking on the name Michael Knight, the detective uses his skills and the help of KITT, a suped up Pontiac Firebird Trans Am powered by artificial intelligence to fight crime.

McCabe and Mrs. Miller

Starring: Warren Beatty, Julie Christie

What It's About: Set in 1902, this anti-Western has Beatty in the role of John McCabe, a gambler who comes to the mining town of Presbyterian Church. McCabe soon takes over most of the mining operations and starts a brothel with partner and love interest Constance Miller. However, he has to contend with some ruthless mining agents bent on purchasing McCabe's interests. The conflict inevitably leads to violence.

Have I Seen It: If I could I'd watch them on a daily basis.
