Weekly Recipe Wrap-up

By Pureandsimplenourishment
Hi everyone! I hope you have had a good week. I am happy to be brining you another Weekly Recipe Wrap-up full of amazing paleo recipes from around the web. I found some pretty delicious recipes for you this week (if I do say so myself).
If you are new here, one of the regular features on my blog is the Weekly Recipe Wrap-up where I collect paleo, SCD and GAPS friendly recipes from some of my favorite bloggers and share them with you. I hope this will introduce you to some great recipes, as well as amazing bloggers who work so hard to bring you free recipes on a regular basis. Simply click on the title of each recipe to be taken to the original source. None of the recipes in this post are my own.
In totally non-paleo related news what do you all think about the current Ebola outbreak? Have you been following it? Are you nervous? We have yet to have a confirmed case make it to Canada, but I am sure it is only a matter of time. When I last checked the death toll was estimated at 961 and the WHO says that the disease is spreading faster than they can contain it. It has now been declared a global health emergency. This means that travel restrictions can be declared if it is deemed medically necessary, and the same goes for restrictions on trade. There are currently no licensed treatments or vaccines for the disease, meaning that patients are treated supportively so that their bodies have the chance to hopefully fight off the virus.
Now, having been to Africa a few years ago, and seeing the state of the healthcare facilities, I can only imagine how horrific the conditions must be in their hospitals right now. The resources to care for this many people are just simply not there. It breaks my heart to see sick people being left in the streets to die. I am sure the death toll will continue to rise dramatically in the coming weeks while global healthcare teams try to play catch up on the disease spread. As a training MD, seeing stories like this always make me question whether I would be willing to sacrifice my own health to travel to the affected regions to help. I am not sure if I would. I am not sure I can justify the risk to my own health. Maybe this makes me a bad or selfish person? I don't know. I would be more than willing to help those in Canada who get sick, but it is the fear of becoming sick myself in these third world countries that terrifies me. I just don't feel comfortable knowing that the resources to properly treat and care for patients like we do here are just not there. It is a sad and horrifying fact. What do you think? Would you be willing to go and help? Is it worth the risk? I would love to hear your opinions!
Well I think that is enough depression talk for one blog post. On a much happier note I hope you enjoy the recipes I have collected for you this week. If you make any of them I would love to know!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! And please follow me on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram!
