didn’t involve a lot of sewing. Okay, that statement is not completely correct. I spent a large portion of my week hovered over my Singer and Juki. I’ve had a love-hate relationship with bras lately, mostly hate, but my thoughts this week weren’t focused on sewing. Why? Because my dad’s coming into town next weekend and I’m so excited. You see, my dad and I have a unique relationship. When I lived at home for a brief period a couple of years ago, we spent our mornings together. As he walked out the door, he would say, “Alright Pinki, I’m off to conquer the world,” and I would say, “Okay, Brain. See you later.” This happened everyday. We were, are still are, Pinki and the Brain (to clarify, my name is with an “i” and not a “y”). At the end of the day, neither one of us conquered the world, but we came pretty damn close, and repeated the same gig the next day. As far away as we are, I’m in Philadelphia and he’s in Fort Lauderdale, we pick up right where we left off when we come together . And you know what’s scary? Even though we lead different lives, we are eerily similar. I’m sure that on Saturday, we’ll both look at each other around 4:30 p.m. and say, “nap time?” We’re early birds, but huge nap people. So even though I am still in the midst of a cool dyeing project, my mind is somewhere else. Can you blame me?
