The question that I am answering today is quite a common one. But easily answered. "When should I send out my invites?"
I would always advise at least 3 months before the wedding provided that you have sent out save the dates. If you aren't planning on sending save the dates and the invite will be the first bit of information on your wedding, then send them out roughly 6 months beforehand. If you have guests travelling from overseas, or you have guests coming with children still in school, then it is only polite to give them as much notice as possible.
However, with the advent of social media, most of your guests will know your wedding date in advance through you talking about it so you can roughly gauge who will and won't be attending. You will need to have properly nailed down your numbers to give to your venue at least 1 month before the wedding (they would have been working off your estimates before then).
Also, an RSVP through Facebook is not and RSVP. Ever.
