The wedding dress..my daughter could not have looked more beautiful. The wedding venue...it was impossible not fall completely in love with Chimney Hill Inn...the bouquet....let the debating begin. Before you even think it...I know...this is not my wedding! But flowers, well they are my weak point. 
I absolutely love flowers of all types...so my daughter's choice is really not the argument. It is more the volume of flowers. She wants a small, simple spray of daisies. I was thinking more in the way of Princess Diana. Well we know who will win this argument already but I thought it would make for a wonderful blog showing some beautiful arrangements,
This bouquet really caught my eye. An arrangement made of peonies and assorted flowers is a nice touch but what really drew me to this was the soft pink color that radiated from the green stems. The gentle color gave this bouquet a natural beauty.
In strike comparison, this grouping of flowers is bold and vibrant. I equally love this one as well. This just shows that much of the bride's personality can be expressed in the flowers that she chooses. I really like that they included the deep purple calla lilies which made the other flowers appear even brighter. 
While wedding bouquets are traditionally made of an arrangement of flowers, this grouping was actually comprised of pearls. I think this could be an outstanding choice in the winter where flowers are a bit more difficult to find. The pearls give a nice sparkle almost giving the feeling of snowflakes. 
One of the considerations to be taken is definitely choosing the flowers that you like but another choice is the length of your flowers. There really is not a right or wrong answer. It is more a preference. This is where my daughter and I go in different directions. She prefers something simple and tight where I am more from the school of thought....more is never enough. 
If you are going for the vintage dress and historic themed wedding, you can see from this picture that our relatives thrived on large arrangements if they were from affluent families. The bouquets were often significant parts of the wedding showing wealth and status. 
A large bouquet presented almost like it was bought from a roadside stand. 
Simple white calla lilies are beautiful. Take notice how this bride had the stems wrapped in ornate pearl ribbon giving a little extra accent to this simple arrangement. 
Simple grouping of peonies (my favorite flowers) not only look beautiful but smell heavenly. They also can be picked from the yard offering a budget friendly option while not giving anything up in beauty. 
No matter what flowers you choose, I thought this was a lovely way to honor those who have passed. You could also choose pictures that reflect your relationship, honor your parents' marriages, or put quotes in the little frames. I really thought this was a very unique addition that could lend itself to so many different expressions. 
So love this idea from Mike Staff Productions. This beautiful pin is strategically placed on a ribbon wrapped around the stems of the bouquet. My grandmother had a beautiful pin I was given at the time of her passing. She was loved by my daughter and I thought it was a lovely way to have her included at the wedding while also giving my daughter something "old" to wear. Flowers are a beautiful part of the wedding.
