Heather Watson successfully negotiated her 2nd round match at Wimbledon against Jamie Lee Hampton of the USA and became the 1st British women in 10 years to make it to the 3rd round of Wimbledon. The battling Guernsey native won 6-1 6-4 and has won the right to face either Agnieska Radwanska or Elena Vesnina.
Elsewhere Roger Federer cruised past Fabio Fognini making the 3rd round despite a hard fall on his knee on the slidy certain court surface. Sam Stosur, US Open Champion went tumbling out after being beaten in 3 sets.
