Rahul Dev Burman, the only son of composer Sachin Dev Burman was born on June 27th, 1939 in Kolkata, India. He is popularly known as Pancham Da and is considered one of the seminal music directors of the Indian Film Industry.
Rahul composed hit songs for several films and is been credited for transforming the Bollywood music. Rita Patel was Pancham’s first wife, whom he married in 1966 and got divorced in 1971. Later, he married singer Asha Bhosle in 1980.
The unbeatable music director breathed his last at the age of 54 on January 4th, 1994 in Mumbai.
