Vivo has launched yet another Selfie focused smartphone in India, the Vivo V5s. As shared earlier, The new smartphone will be available in Matte Black color option and crown Gold colour options and its highlight is the 20-megapixel front camera. The V5s is a higer specced variant of the Vivo V5 which was launched in November 2016.
The highlight is the 20-megapixel front camera, the moonlight flash and a groupSelfie feature that lets you click a 145-degree wide-angle selfie from the front camera. The Vivo V5s also comes preloaded with the Face Beauty 6.0 app for better selfies. It sports a metal unibody design, supports dual-SIM cards, and runs on Funtouch 2.6 OS that’s based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
The Vivo V5s comes with a 5.5 inches HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 SoC coupled with Mali T860 GPU.
The dual-sim (hybrid dual-SIM configuration) smartphone, V5s comes with 64GB internal storage and 4GB RAM. Apart from the 20MP front camera, the V5S comes with a 13MP rear camera that comes with a single-LED flash and PDAF.
The Vio V5s comes with a fingerprint sensor located under the home button and takes 0.2 seconds to unlock the devices, says the company.
The smartphone is powered by a 3000mAh battery and bears the standard connectivity options including 4G (with support for Indian LTE bands), FM radio, GPS, and Bluetooth. It offers an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and digital compass.
The V5 also comes with Hi-Fi audio support (using the 32-bit AKM AK4376 DAC), and the company is touting a Smart Split 2.0 feature that lets users use two apps side-by-side. Also touted is an Eye Protection Mode that filters blue light.

The Vivo V5s has been priced at Rs. 18,990 and consumers can buy Vivo V5s from all major retail stores and online on Flipkart. The new Vivo V5s pre-orders will start today itself, and the first sale is scheduled for May 6; the Matte Black color variant will be available for purchase on May 6. The Crown Gold color variant will only become available starting May 20.
