Vitamin D Deficiency and Vitamin D Benefits

By Dusana Bozenkova
Have you been extremely tired lately, so tired you feel it in your bones?
In the last few month I have been feeling very tired. I decided to have a blood test and found out that I am Vitamin D deficient.
The symptoms of vitamin D deficiency include:
- Tiredness
- Pain in your bones
- Weakness
- Muscle twitching
- Mood swings and depression
- You can also have frequent infections
- Some people may not have any symptoms at all.
Vitamin D is important for good health, growth and strong bones.
I got vitamin D supplements. I've been told to eat a lot of oily fish, eggs, fortified breakfast cereals and powdered milk. I have been also told that about 10 to 15 minutes a day in the sun without sunscreen is enough to top up vitamin D levels.
Well, last few days have been hot in Paris and since our body make vitamin D when the sun shines, now is the perfect weather to spend some time on the sun. I feel more energetic and happier when the sun shines.
Sunshine boosts levels of serotonin, the body's natural happy hormone.  :-)
