With plans for a television drama based on Rockstar Games during the development of Grand Theft Auto, many are wondering what other aspects of gaming could be headed for television. In this article I will discuss some of the video game controversy which would make great television.

With the gaming industry making around 60 billion dollars, their storylines have to be fantastic. Here are some five games that can be converted into exciting television series.

Top 5 Video Games That Would Be Great For Television

  1. Grand Theft Auto by Rockstar Games (Xbox 360®, PlayStation®3, and PC) would be fantastic for television because of the action, adventure and just downright dirty undermined back stabbing gangster style plots. The scenes are set in fictional locations but they look a lot like Miami, New York and the state of California which people will be able to relate to.
  2. Gone Home is an independent game by The Fullbright Company for Windows PC. This games scene is set in Portland Oregon, where you arrive to your beautiful mansion after being gone in Europe for a year. You have to wander around different rooms of your home looking for clues of what happened here. Was anyone killed in your home? The mystery and suspense will almost kill you for this television show.
  3. The Last of Us by Sony (PlayStation 3) A deadly viral outbreak destroys most of the population on Earth. This could be a good mystery or it could be a type of feel good movie that after years and possibly decades on a desolate planet people become immune to the deadly outbreak and start to rebuild their new world. Lots of cameo roles for superstar actors could jump in every so often on this show.
  4. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag (Xbox 360/One, PlayStation 3/4, Nintendo Wii U and Windows PC) A pirate style game where you can sail in the early 18th century and play one of the characters that gets caught between two secret societies, the Assassins and the Templars. Everyone loves a good television show about pirates and swashbuckling. Throw in a pretty girl and you have a love story.
  5. Destiny (Xbox) The civilization grew beyond the solar system too quickly and they paid the price. Enemies crushed the earthlings and pushed them back to Earth. In the game you are The Guardian. This game show, set in Nepal, would make a great action packed super hero saves the day type of television movie. Our super hero The Guardian will have to save the Earth from our foes.

All of these video game tales are full of drama, romance; action, mystery, suspense, etc. and can become great television shows. With all these great new shows you should get an entertainment package so you could enjoy even more television.

Television is gradually changing with the introduction of streaming devices, and not just this the content we see is also different now. We have already seen a lot of television shows based on books and games, now it is time for this to change as games have found enough success to be converted into entertaining television.
