On her rough time growing up:
“I didn’t go to a private school; it was a public school. It was not a very nice school.” She was bullied there, because, as she puts it, she was “different from all the other children at the school. I really wouldn’t wish it on any kid, because it’s horrible.”Victoria Beckham Covers Allure 2014 On how she makes designs for real women:
“I find that even the simplest of dresses, if it has the correct seaming and the correct fabric, whatever shape or size you are, it can change the way you hold yourself.” In late 2014, her first brick-and-mortar store will open in London, allowing customers “to see the brand through my eyes, as opposed to being able to buy what the retail partner buys. The buy will be what I decide.”
Victoria Beckham Covers Allure 2014 On her success:
“I was never a natural,” she says. “I got there in the end because I did believe that if you work hard enough, then you can achieve a lot.” Her ambition has been honed since her early days with the Spice Girls. It was a highly gratifying time until Beckham discovered what lay ahead. “In England, one minute there’s all this great press, and it’s all very flattering and very exciting. And then in the next minute, it’s not.”
