There is something about vampires that my 13 year old finds fascinating so when I was sent the Vampire Diaries Series 1 to review from Warner Brothers she was rather excited and although it’s a 15 certified film I allowed her to watch it with me.
I was thinking it would be much like Twilight but to be honest this had a much better story line to it.
I had a few late nights trying to get this watched but was so glued to it I didn’t want it to end.
The atmosphere and the scary noises when you know a vampire is about keeps you stuck to your seat, the anticipation is amazing. I was really getting into all those blood sucking stuff.
All 22 episodes of the first season of the teen drama series about teenager Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and non-ageing vampire brothers Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefano Salvatore (Paul Wesley). Damon and Stefano move to Mystic Falls where they attend the same school as Elena and her brother, Jeremy, who are grieving for their recently deceased parents. The story is centred around the relationship between Elena and Stefano but also follows the other residents of the town. Episodes are: ‘Pilot’, ‘The Night of the Comet’, ‘Friday Night Bites’, ‘Family Ties’, ‘You’re Undead to Me’, ‘Lost Girls’, ‘Haunted’, ’162 Candles’, ‘History Repeating’, ‘The Turning Point’, ‘Bloodlines’, ‘Unpleasantville’, ‘Children of the Damned’, ‘Fool Me Once’, ‘A Good Few Men’, ‘There Goes the Neighbourhood’, ‘Let the Right One in’, ‘Under Control’, ‘Miss Mystic Falls’, ‘Blood Brothers’, ‘Isobel’ and ‘Founder’s Day’.
The characters are brilliant and they make it easily believable. There are a few nice guys in there too I have to say.
The dvd offers bonus features and unaired scenes.
If you have older teens this is a sure hit for their Xmas stocking this year.
