This is a blog to encourage liberal arts majors to understand the value they have to offer in the "real world" of paying jobs. Business needs the liberal arts--people who have learned to write, speak, analyze, manage qualitative information, operate across cultures and languages, apply emotional intelligence. It's what hiring managers are desperate to find, and liberal arts students (and faculty and advisors) overlook these obvious and important job qualifications. They are essential elements of business and business leadership.
As an English major who went on to a long career in corporate, high tech management. I was successful because of, not in spite of, my education.
