The smell of fresh brewed coffee in the morning. Heavenly.

I came to Urbanista on Gemmayze street at 9 30am Friday morning and thought I was the only early bird around. The second I sat down, people started walking in… groups of friends, foreigners, business men, individuals like myself, with their laptops aiming to do some work in a pleasant, cosmopolitan atmosphere…

I love the feeling of the busy city life. I love Beirut… Really, this place gives you an overwhelming pleasant feeling in the morning, with great music in the background, a Latte and free WiFi, how else but great will your day start.

Urbanista – food, coffee and people is a welcoming, spacious with comfortable leather sofas and chairs and an outside terrace for those who want to enjoy their morning cigarette with their coffee.

They have a small boutique that sells everything from rings, to t-shirts to air freshener and even iPods and iPads (regular and mini).

Walk around and enjoy the interior of Urbanista, something really special.  A beautiful neon sign with the word Beirut designed by local artists, Ashekman, hangs over a huge wall. The place has a lot of details that can be enjoyed.

The smell of freshly baked goods from the open kitchen bar will tickle your appetite.  I will try to resist the temptation but I don’t know how long I can do so… will keep you posted!
