Unusual Cottage Cheese Bread

This bread totally depends of the type of the cottage cheese and the taste of the sour cream. That is why I always buy the same cheese and sour cream to make the best bread. When I need something quick to put on the table with a smell of the freshly baked homemade bread, I turn to this recipe with a smile because it always brings me back to my childhood and my grandmother’s kitchen.

  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 tsp of yeast

Method

Stir all the ingredients, slowly adding flour and start kneading the dough. Make sure that all the ingredients are at room temperature except milk – it should be a bit warmer. This dough shouldn’t be left to rest. Roll out the dough and cream it with the cheese mix.

The cheese mix

  • 1/4 cup of sour cream
  • 2 cups of cottage cheese

Mix all the ingredients and add salt if it’s necessary. The taste of the whole bread depends directly of this cheese mix.

Cream this cheese mix on the rolled out dough evenly and roll in the dough. Fold the dough to make the circle and put together the ends. Take the kitchen scissors an cut the bread a little bit all around the circle just to make it decoratively.

It’s time to mix one egg with a little salt and cream the bread to get the nice color when it’s baked. I have sprinkled it with some sesame seeds and with a little salt. The bread is ready to be baked.

Put the Unusual Cottage Cheese Bread in the oven on 400 F degrees for 20-25 minutes. When you take it out from the oven cover it with kitchen cloth and leave it like that until it cools.

This might be your first homemade bread and remember, it always turns out great
