Over a month ago I left home to move into student accommodation, after a week of not unpacking anything out of pure laziness I decided it was time to make this room feel as homely as possible. Beech color furniture is the bane of my life and in this room there is no escape from it, so I've tried to even out the awful decor with magazine cuttings, bunting, photographs and of course my books. I don't struggle living here with how I imagined, purely because I am living with three friends and three other people, so there is a balance between familiar and unknown; though after a month the unknown has become familiar and I am now in a routine and have managed to settle into life at university and away from family.
