Would you believe if I said that this outfit ( except for the bag ) is under a $100???? Yes ladies, I own this one- this outfit does total up to under a $100. Well, how??? - keep reading to believe it !
If you remember the dress, last seen here in a more girly-girl avatar, so I didn't want to limit it to wearing it just as is, repurposing it was just what I intended for today's look.
- A very uptown chic way of doing that would be by juxtaposing styles- masculine and feminine. A printed bomber jacket is a fun effortless way to add some edge to any feminine look and give some visual-appeal to any plane-jane dress too.
- A killer pair of spike heels in a spring-worthy hue would be another way to add that edgy glam to a lace dress.
- Textures would be another easy way to take a lace dress up a notch- in my case it's the bag. The quilted pattern on it definitely does the needful.
dress- Ann Taylor ( short sleeve option ) bomber jacket- Shein, buy same ( similar, another gorgeous option ) heels- Rachel Roy ( a splurge ) bag- Chanel ( more affordable option ) all jewelry- c/o Your Bijoux Box
Now for the fun part : let's talk $$$.
The dress originally was $198. I wasn't willing to shell out $200 just for one dress so I staked it for a while before it was marked down to $75, a weekly special on all dresses. So I headed straight for my nearest Ann Taylor store to grab it before the promotion expired. The SA insisted I get an Ann Taylor credit card to avail further discounts, which I did and ended up paying only $47 for this lacy beauty. Now tell me wasn't that a king of steals ???? So in this case patience and a good credit score paid off.
