Twitter’s New Facebook-Style Profile Redesign Looks Really Great

Posted on the 09 April 2014 by Nrjperera @nrjperera

First of all, I’m very excited that Twitter has finally decided adapt to large screen devices and make use of the empty spaces. With this new design, that spread across the entire screen, there will no longer be empty spaces on the sides. Instead, there will be bigger area for reading tweets and to show off mutual followers with their profile pictures. Trending topics and suggested followers sections now appear on the right side.

Twitter’s new web profile design is not just about looking good, it also comes with several improvements like the ability to pin one of your best tweets on to the top of the page and the option to choose which timeline to view for visitors. There’s another great feature in this design that makes popular tweets with more engagement appear bigger than others, making it easier to find better content.

New users will get to use the brand new design immediately. But for the rest of us old tweeps, we have to wait a few weeks to try the new design. If you want to have an early look at the design, check out the @channingtatum and @flotus accounts.
