Will.I.Am, who is most famous for making hit after hit with pop group Black Eyed Peas and for his place as a judge on TV talent show The Voice, met with Katie at a Prince’s Trust event in London today.The singer made a generous donation to the charity last year, and today reiterated his commitment to its goals. In particular, he is keen to promote STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) in deprived communities. The pair will appear on the news tonight in order to talk about the importance of technology, both for young people themselves and for the nation’s economy. Ongoing changes to the workplace mean that knowledge of technology will be essential if we are to stay at the forefront of a global race. As a young entrepreneur involved in the technology industry, Katie shares Will.I.Am’s enthusiasm for this cause.
Katie is a Young Ambassador for the Trust, which aims to assist vulnerable young people with a variety of services. Each year, thousands are helped by the charity’s programmes, which include the entrepreneurship training and mentoring which Katie herself has benefited from.
