Tuesday Training Report – Week 2 (Yes, a Day Late!)

By Debi Lantzer @debiL1611

It’s officially Week 2 of my training, and I’m happy to report that I actually HAVE a report to report! YAY! This year instead of making a resolution, I made a firm decision to make some serious changes in my life.  My resolution is summed up with hashtags this year – #bestyearEVER, #victory and #honoringme.  So far, I’ve remembered to stay in line with my new plan, and I’m proud to report that today – January 18 – makes 18 days without any mishaps with my mental training, which includes staying on track with my food or beverage intake.  I’m also really happy to say I’m still pretty good with staying on track with physical training.

Tuesday Training Report – Week 2 (Yes, a Day Late!)

I’m hoping that any of you reading this will be inspired or encouraged to join along with me in this journey.  I’ve been up and down on the scales, in and out of the gyms, on and off the street running over the years. Since I believe there is strength in numbers, I’d love for all of us “back of the pack” folks to band together on this adventure called training.  It’s not too late for you to join in either since it’s only week 2 on a 20 week journey. I found this new training plan by doing a search  for a half marathon 20 week training plan on the internet.  A plan from Women’s Running magazine popped up. As always, since my life is so hectic and busy, I’ve had to tweak it to accommodate my life – especially since I’ve also joined an 8-week fitness challenge at a local gym, so I’ve tweaked the plan even a little more so I can incorporate strength and core training added to the running.

So there’s the story, and my “shout out” for others to join in.  One last thing before I report the training – if you are in the Cleveland, Ohio area, you NEED to sign up for the Cleveland Marathon Series, whether it’s the 5k, 8k, 10k, half marathon or full marathon.  Let me know which race you’ve registered for and we will try to meet up. For those of you not in the Cleveland area, sign up for a race in May and you’ll be ready to run it too!
