But this is no laughing matter, considering many people do not live to talk about their tale, or end up seriously maimed when encountering a shark. Kwanten talks to The Getaway on the Esquire Network about how this chance run in his home country of Australia, led him to train for Surf Life Saving:
I started competing in Surf Life Saving at the ripe old age of 5 back in Australia, which happens to be where the sport was invented in 1907.
