One runway trend that I am obsessing over this season is the neon trend. Be it neon bags, neon heels, neon clothing and even neon pink lips, you name it and I'll have something already featured on the blog. This trend is so energetic and enticing, that I can't seem to get enough !
So today Jaclyn from beauty and the binky and I have teamed up, to show you two looks. Both the looks are subtle and appropriate for two busy moms, who like to stay on trend , over and above their motherly busyness. Jaclyn is a new Mom who is ravishing, eclectic and boy oh boy .....her boy is utterly cute. Not only does her blog address the newbie mom's concerns (not limiting to breast feeding and daycare hunting) but also exhibits her sense of style perfection through her over-the-top-mommy looks. Now lets talk about the looks, both of which portray mom-chic. My look is a bit more daring with neon printed pants and coordinating top. To balance the boldness of this hue, the accessories except for the red bag, were kept neutral. Jaclyn's monochromatic look, with a punch of neon through accessories is more understated and again age appropriate.
I am glad I got Jaclyn on board on this one. It was a real pleasure to know someone who cares and understands the pressure of being a new mom. Thanks Jaclyn for co-hosting this post.

DO limit neon to a few small accents or one large piece, it can become overwhelming.
DO use accessories as a way to participate in color trends, you don't want a closet full of neon shirts when nude becomes the "it" color.
DO use neon to spice up a muted trend (like chambray), it's a great way to accent.

DON'T go overboard with this trend. Limit to only accessories and clothing, no makeup please. Neon make up is so not chic. A dash of neon pink/orange lips is still forgiving.
DON'T experiment with fabrication and textures, especially fur. They are a bit too much with these vibrant shades.
