Toyota Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV)

Creating a buzz at CES 2014 is the Toyota Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV), is the latest eco-friendly automotive innovation to hopefully hit the streets soon. Whilst Hydrogen fuel cells has been around, Toyota is leading the charge when it comes to implementing this technology into a mass-produced commercial vehicle. Utilising the hybrid technologies of the Prius along with a hydrogen fuel cell, Toyota tips that this new eco friendly vehicle will deliver a driving experience that is on par with a gasoline engine. The way the hydrogen fuel cell works, is the car is fed with hydrogen gas which is combined with oxygen in the fuel stack, thus causing a reaction that produces electricity to power the motor. Aside from the eco-friendly hydrogen gas used as fuel, the only emissions released from this reaction is water vapour, making it a clean eco-friendly energy source.
