TORRES’ BEAUTIFUL TRACK ‘SPRINTER’ SETS THE FRAMEWORK FOR NEW ALBUM [STREAM] Pause Torres – Sprinter SoundCloud

Receiving beaming praises for her performance at this year’s SXSW Music Festival, Torres (aka Mackenzie Scott), steps off the Austin stage to unveil her title-track off her forthcoming sophomore album, Sprinter (out May 4th via Partisan Records). The song is a beautiful representation of the framework and body of the rest of the album, including the overarching question between faith and freedom, “My pastor told us don’t you worry/ Even Zacchaeus found his glory/ I was a sprinter then/ Living to see it end/ Well pastor lost his position/ Went down for pornography.” As Torres mutters and howls at a menacing pace, “Sprinter” sets you on an emotional trek through rhythmically dynamic highs and lows, allowing you to explore a much more introspective and almost autobiographical side of the song. Listen to the hymnal track above.
