Top Impression Bakery Cafe | Wolli Creek

By Takeeatfoodblog
What is the best thing to do when it is 40+ degrees outside? Retreat inside and stay there for as long as possible... and that's exactly what my friend and I did. Oh also find a place that has food and cold drinks! Top Impression Bakery Cafe has been on my go-to list for awhile since I saw their Green Tea Croissant on Instagram. If you know me well you would know that I'm a huge fan of anything Matcha and if anything is Matcha related I've got to try it!
Top Impression Bakery Cafe is located directly opposite the Wolli Creek train station and nestled among the apartments and other shops in the newly developing Wolli Creek developments. The last time I went to Wolli Creek was to look at an off the plan apartment and at that time there was no cafes/ shops at all! There has definitely been a big transformation since that last visit. Top Impression Bakery Cafe has a whole range of different pastries and bread, they also serve up breakfast and lunch dishes. There is only a small place next to the window to sit indoors but outdoors there is a lot of bigger tables to cater for larger groups. Now to the food....

Green Tea Croissant | w/ Green Tea Custard | $3.80
Sorry about the Green Tea Croissant spam but this pastry is just to photogenic... I mean just look at that green tea custard ooze out! When my friend took this out the pastry cabinet the first thing he said was "whoa it's really heavy!" that's when I knew that this humble croissant was filled to the max with green tea goodness. The pastry of the croissant was fluffy and flaky and the green tea custard was not too sweet or bitter and it had the perfect matcha flavouring to it. After eating this I know why people are trekking all the way to Wooli Creek to try this!

Chicken & Avocado Sandwich
I ordered the staple chicken and avocado sandwich, there is a choice of different sauces; tomato, bbq or mayonnaise. I opted for the mayo. The chicken and avocado sandwich was nothing special- basically a standard chicken and avo sandwich you get at any cafe. There was sun dried tomatoes in the sandwich which I think could of been replaced by fresh tomatoes to add a more "fresh" element to the sandwich. The only real downfall to this sandwich was the bread because it was extremely hard (it wasn't even toasted), it made it very difficult to bite into this was the case with my friend's bread to (pictured below).
