Top 10 Destinations I Most Want to Visit

By Real Talk @talkrealdebate2012

Bucket List Publications is one of my favorite blogs to follow.  The blog follows the traveling adventures of Lesley Carter and her family.  Every year Lesley makes a Bucket List.  She forms a list of different activities she wishes to attempt or places she would like to travel to in the upcoming year.  Since last year, I have lived vicariously through her travels.  Personally, Lesley is a kind-hearted person and I highly recommend following her blog.

There are many places I would like to visit.

Here are my top 10 destinations:

whale sharks

1.  Atlanta, Georgia

Since the moment I read Lesley’s blog post early this year of her adventures in Atlanta, I knew I had to go to this beautiful city.  There are many great attractions in Atlanta.  The ones I most want to visit are the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola and the CNN studio.  What I most want to do is swim with whale sharks.  Yes, you correctly read that last sentence.  My family may think I’m crazy every time I mention this, but the prospect of swimming with a beast of the ocean is incredibly enticing to me.  Not to mention so out of character for me.

View of the Thames from the Waterloo Bridge, London, UK

2.  London, England

I have had a fascination with London since a young lad.  As a child I remember owning a 3D puzzle of the “Big Ben.”  In addition, I would love to see Buckingham Palace.  I think it would especially cool to see a soccer game in Wembley Stadium.  London truly has a myriad of attractions to visit.

Aruba beach

3.   Aruba

I am not really sure I have to explain why I want to go to this beautiful island.  Just look at this picture.  Don’t you want to go as well?

Venice

4.  Italy

I’ve always wanted to go to Italy.  Italy homes the Colosseum, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Pantheon and Venice.  There are many places to visit.  One aspect of Italy I cannot forget to mention is the food.  Everyone raves how delicious the food is in Italy.  I guess it doesn’t taste like Olive Garden over there.

Panda Bear

5.  China

I have always been fascinated with Chinese mythology and history.  I think the Chinese have one of the most beautiful cultures in the history of mankind.  I would love to see the Great Wall of China and Tienanmen Square.  After watching the 2008 Olympic Games I know I would have to visit the Beijing National Stadium.

Cape Town, South Africa

6.  South Africa

I am an avid viewer of the Discover Chanel, National Geographic and Animal Planet.  South Africa is home to some of the most beautiful landscapes and animals in the world.  I would love to visit the Cape of Good Hope, Johannesburg Zoo and an authentic safari.  The thing I most would like to do is cage dive with great white sharks.  Again, if you knew me personally you’d think I was going crazy.  Swimming with sharks is very much out my comfort zone and personality; but that’s exactly why I want to do it.  Sometimes you just have to say the hell with it and just live in the moment.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

7.  Australia

Between gorgeous beaches, kangaroos, koalas and beautiful landscapes I don’t know why someone wouldn’t want to go to Australia.  I would love to visit the Great Barrier Reef, the Sydney Opera House, Uluru, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Rio de Janeiro

8.  Brazil

Brazil is one of the most scenically stunning countries in the world.  I would love to visit the Iguazu Falls, Cristo Redentor, Carnival of Brazil and the city of Rio de Janeiro.  The country will host the 2016 Summer Olympics.  I would also love to visit parts of the Amazon rainforest.

Egypt

9.  Egypt

Home to one of the earliest civilizations, Egypt is rich in history.  I would like to see the Great Pyramids of Giza, Mount Sinai, the Great Sphinx of Giza, the Valley of the Kings and the Nile River.  It’s astounding that humankind was able to enact such large structures so perfectly so many years ago.

Kefalonia, Greece

10. Greece

Even though I have been to this country I would love to once again visit Greece.  Greece is the birthplace of modern civilization.  It is also the birthplace of my parents.  I would love to once again visit Parthenon, the Acropolis, the Ionian Islands and Kefalonia.  Kefalonia is the island my parents were born.  It is the most stunning place I have ever seen.  I think everyone should go to Greece at least once in their lifetime.
