Again the temperature climbed until Friday when a cool change only managed to make things very humid and sticky!

The botanical names suggests a closer relative of basil
but the distinctive thyme leaf shape and smell is there.

In the Garden This week:
I have sown into a punnet some seeds we found by Doc's workshop as we didn't know what plant they were from. They will most likely be a weed but it has us curious...
The heat has set the tomatoes ripening!
I harvest the tomatoes just as they are beginning to colour up...
...with in days they are fully ripe.
If left on the vine they tend to sit and either cook in the heat or get badly sunburnt even with shade cover.
Just as the replacement seeds for the bug eaten Lady Godiva Pumpkins were sprouting one of the original plants rose from destruction! I will plant a couple of new seedlings next to this one.
The Butternut Lettuces that grew so well in the pathway have produced lots of seed that I have been scattering around the Kitchen Garden.
The Dwarf Sunflowers are flowering!
At The Community Garden
With the humid weather bringing cooler temps, a chance of rain or at least cloudy weather I have planted a few more things I had spare at home into and around my Wicking Tank Bed.
Cosmos Yellow just for some added colour!!
