Good Morning All! My daughter and I love Tomatoes, and basil. So, I came up with this tomato, basil tart! Its so easy but yet so good. There was one piece leftover and my 6 year old took it to school. I wish I would of made two. LOL This was a huge hit :-)
Basil Tomato Tart2 Sliced tomatoes(Make sure they are equal size)7-8 Basil leaves of good sizeWhole Mozzarella (not shaved)1 Tsp Sea Salt1 Tsp Cracked Pepper1 pizza dough
First slice your tomatoes...you want them semi thin but not to thin. Slice your mozzarella. Make sure its thick but not to thick. Pick or set aside your basil leaves. In a pie dish or a tart pan spray it so it doesn't stick. Take your pizza dough and spread it in the pan making sure it goes up the sides. You don't want thick you want a thin amount. Now take a tomato place it around the edge. Then take your mozzarella and over lap the tomato. Put a basil leaf, then keep doing it around the dish, and in the middle. Alternating between tomato, basil and mozzarella. Then drizzle olive oil over it. Sprinkle with sea salt and cracked pepper. Bake at 350 till the dough looks done, and the mozzarella is melted and starting to turn golden. Take it out and let it cool before popping it out. Slice and ENJOY!
