Today's Review: Tango Liquid Ice Lollies
Tango have expanded into the frozen dessert realm, with these ice lollies. "Liquid Ice" they're called, because a plain old orange ice pop wouldn't be enough. If you look past all the "tang" related jokey diagram labels on the box, you'll see that underneath the outer layer is a liquid core. How does that work? I don't know, probably magic. But how is it?
I'm glad they included the liquid core bit, because without that these would have absolutely nothing of note. The outside is your generic orange flavoured ice lolly, not bad, but definitely nothing special at all. The inner core is actually a nice surprise, a tangy, oozy liquid that builds on the orange flavor and adds a bit of a sour kick. I don't know how they keep it in liquid form, but it's pulled off pretty well. Unfortunately, it doesn't last, as after getting about halfway through the thing the core runs out, so all that's left is a pretty disappointing orange ice pop. So the core is a neat idea, but it doesn't particularly elevate this dessert to great heights. Try it if you want something a little different in your freezer, but it's not amazing.
My rating: 3/5
