One boy, thought to be 15 or 16 years old, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The other boy, 16, suffered a gunshot wound to the left leg and was taken to the hospital, but additional information was not immediately available. The teenager’s body could be seen lying a few yards from at least eight shell casings on the alley sidewalk next to a three-story apartment building.

About 11 p.m. Saturday, a man was fatally shot in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood on the South Side. Officers responding to a call of a person on the ground found a 23-year-old man lying in a vacant lot, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A weapon was recovered at the scene, but no one was in custody early Sunday as Area Central detectives investigate.

Earlier Saturday night, a 19-year-old man was shot to death in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side. He was driving in the 4900 block of West Augusta about 8:45 p.m. when shots rang out and he suffered three gunshot wounds to the shoulder and side, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm any of the fatalities early Sunday.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

About 3:15 a.m., four more people were wounded in three separate shootings on the North, South and Southwest sides.

In the Wicker Park neighborhood, a 32-year-old got into a argument with a group of males in the 2100 block of North Avenue, police said.
