This Day in Baseball

By Precious Sanders @pdsanders99

Cleveland Blues pitcher Hugh Daily tossed a no-hitter against the Philadelphia Quakers to win the game 1-0 on September 13, 1883.  He would finish the season with a 23-19 record, 171 strikeouts, and a 2.42 ERA.  All this was all the more remarkable due to the fact that “One Arm” Daily had lost his left hand due to a gun accident earlier in his life.
