It’s been a few days! The Boy and I enjoyed a long weekend and visited his parents for an extended birthday celebration and enjoyed some relaxing fun time with his parents and some of our friends, along with lots of tasty food (and cake)!
So life lately has been sort of a mish-mash of all sorts of things, so I thought I’d share a few things I’ve been digging lately.

Pastel nail polish. After sharing with y’all my recently developed obsession with nail polish, I realized I really wanted to try out mint and other pastel-colored polishes on my fingertips. I picked up this minty hue while at Target last week. It’s Sally Hansen’s mint sorbet and is a very retro light teal. Upon seeing it The Boy commented that it was like a retro refrigerator, and I am inclined to agree. It’s quickly become one of my favorite colors, and now I’m on the hunt for other fun sherbet-like colors to add to my ever-growing collection of fun polishes.
The Signal and the Noise. After hearing so much about this book in the weeks leading up to the election, along with several interviews with Nate Silver when the book was released, I decided to pick up a copy for my nook and see what all the fuss was about. In the introduction Silver makes a few references to the book Moneyball and based on that alone I knew I would like it. I’m about halfway through and I’m enjoying how full of data and information this book is. It’s interesting learning about why some predictions fail, and how to look for what the data is really saying as you go through it. It’s definitely a stimulating read and if you like statistics at all (even if you don’t) I highly recommend checking it out!

The Keurig. We recently bought a Keurig and as much as I resisted getting one over the past few years, I’m finding myself growing increasingly smitten with this compact machine. My normal coffee-making process (in my awesome French Press) was not always efficient enough for the early morning hours, and the Keurig has enabled me to fix coffee incredibly quickly – with just the push of a few buttons. While I will still be using my French Press (and investing in a k-cup filter to brew my own favorite blends), this has been a great solution for those mornings where I want a quick cup of coffee. I love the variety of k-cups available, and already am a little bit more than a little addicted to the Swiss Miss cocoa cups. DELICIOUS.
So, that’s what I’ve been into lately – what about you?
