The Touchless Toilet is Here

By Jakemontgomery @LTDOnlineStores

Announcing the greatest invention since Steve Jobs first unveiled the iPhone. Yes, it’s that great. What if there was a way that you could flush the toilet without having to actually touch the handle? Sounds like a dream right? Well, this is now possible through an ingenious idea!

To flush, all you have to do is hold your hand over the sensor and voila, fresh water rushing down the toilet! A sensor module is mounted inside the tank. This sensor emits an electromagnetic field above the tank lid. When the field is interrupted, the flush is activated and away it goes!

KOHLER Touchless

KOHLER has made the Touchless Toilet available as a pre-installed toilet or you can buy a Toilet Flush Kit to install it in your existing toilet. It’s great to have options isn’t it. I’m seriously considering adding this to our list of the Worlds Coolest Toilets.

Touchless Toilet How it Works

A electromagnetic sensor is placed underneath the toilet lid. When the electromagnetic field is broken, the toilet will flush!

Given the rate that technology advances, I wouldn’t be surprised to see touchless toilets to be the standard five years from now. With so much automated technology, you might wonder when they’ll make a mirror that even takes selfies for you. Oh wait, they already have that.

KOHLER offers the new Touchless Technology in three options. The San Souci and Cimarron both feature AquaPiston Technology. This is a great idea for those seeking to update their home with a modern touch.

San Souci

KOHLER San Souci

The San Souci is a one-piece toilet that features a sleek, contemporary design for those who want an ultra-modern bathroom. The San Souci Touchless Toilet comes ready to go (no pun intended) with 4 AAA batteries that last 12 months! $933.85.

Cimarron

The Cimarron Touchless Toilet is available in two models. One version is elongated while the other features a smaller more standard rounded front. [Learn About Toilet Seat Shapes & Sizes]

This is the more economical version for those on a budget crunch. At $363.40, the Cimarron has a modern look that is in line with the foundations of modern bathroom design. It qualifies as a low-flush toilet using only 1.28 gpf.

Toilet Flush Kit

So maybe you don’t want to replace your entire toilet. That’s fine, you can still avoid touching the handle with a Toilet Flush Kit. The kit is battery powered and fits into most toilets. It’s easy to install and can be up and running in minutes. Only $99.97.

AquaPiston Technology

AquaPiston Technology is a patented flush engine that delivers a fast, powerful, and clog-proof flush every time. AquaPiston differs from traditional toilets that use the standard flapper in that it allows the valve to open completely. The flapper on old toilets only opens up about halfway when you flush, but the AquaPiston lifts upward, allowing a wide open flush. It’s a gravity-fed flush toilet that is ADA compliant and it packs a punch.

Benefits of a Touchless Toilet

A touchless toilet helps prevent the spread of germs in the bathroom. As you know, some of the dirtiest objects that our hands come into contact with are found in the bathroom. Just knowing that 70% of people use their phones in the bathroom is enough to make your stomach cringe? All jokes aside, this could seriously help slow the spread of germs.
