Couch Gag – This time the family fall into the sofa with head peering through legs.

Plot SynopsisAfter Homer fails a fathering test, he decides to help Bart build his Soap Box Derby racer. But Bart dumps Homer and their racer after Martin’s far superior vehicle suddenly becomes available.

What is going on reallyThis episode starts with Homer wanting to buy television material before Marge and her sisters are about to go to the beauticians. Promising to look after the kids Homer is forced to take Lisa to the video story (Yes there were a thing) but Bart is making his own soap box Derby race car.

After failing a father test Homer wants to prove he is a good father. Homer gets taken to an institute to learn how to become a better father from a book written by Bill Cosby (Well this is awkward). When Homer gets to help make the car the two get to spend time together getting the reward they both would like.

Final ThoughtsI have to mark this down because of the Cosby jokes now feel awkward. But it is a good episode when you look at seeing the parenting from Homer.
