2012 is a leap year which took its start on Sunday according to the Gregorian or Western calender. The closer the 21st of December 2012 gets the more people start worrying. This date was supposed to be the end of the world by the ancient Maya tribes. However nobody knows for sure how will all that story end. Maybe there still would happen a great disaster that may make the humankind vanish.

In such periods of mass worries a large amount of the new prophets appear. One of them, the American pastor Harold Camping declared the end of the world to happen in May of 2011. When noting happened he chose another date that year. It may sound surprising but another mishit didn’t embarrass the prophet and he declared the new end of the world.
The modern human becomes aware of the fact how fragile our world is and how easy it is to destroy the vulnerable environment. The greatest achievements and innovations of the humankind can’t protect the civilization from the inevitable and frightening final. Everyone just wants to live no matter in what form.
