The Pull List: Must Read Comics of 11/7/12

Animal Man #14

By: Jeff Lemire and Steve Pugh

Publisher: DC Comics

Price: $2.99

The Lowdown: Rotworld has been so disgustingly awesome so far. In The Red Kingdom side of things, Animal Man has been brought to the Red’s domain where John Constantine is waiting for Buddy. While Felix Faust is leading an army of the Rot to the Red, Constantine dishes on how the Rot took over the world in the first place.

Swamp Thing #14

By: Scott Snyder and Yanick Paquette

Publisher: DC Comics

Price: $2.99

The Lowdown: Swampy maneuvering the Rotted green kingdom makes his way to Gotham City, which has been Snyder’s other bread and butter. Here’s hoping for a Swampy vs Rotten Bats. Or maybe a Bat that has out-maneuvered the Rot.

Deadpool #1

By: Brian Posehn, Gerry Duggan, Tony Moore, and Geof Darrow

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Price: $2.99

The Lowdown: This is one of the first Marvel Now books seeing the Merc with the Mouth getting his numbers restarted at 1. After a pretty poor payoff when they tried to cure Deadpool of his skin scarring and healing factor, heavy metal comedian, Brian Posehn, will hopefully put him back as the loveable anti-hero. I’ll certainly miss Remender’s version on Uncanny X-Force when he leaves.

Iron Man #1

By: Kieron Gillen and Greg Land

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Price: $3.99

The Lowdown: Another Marvel Now renumbering (since I don’t think this is a full out reboot) puts Tony Stark in a darkly colored armor. Iron Man is trying to stop an outbreak of the Extremis virus. Certainly not coincidence given that the Extremis virus is going to be a part of the new movie.

Uncanny X-Force #33

By: Rick Remender, Phil Noto, and Jerome Opena

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Price: $3.99

The Lowdown: Remender’s run on X-Force is coming to a close. The book is getting spun off in 2 different directions. Psylocke is starting a squad, and so is Cable. Wolverine and Deadpool are going there separate ways (which is too bad because I love the way they play off each other). Enjoy this book while it lasts.

X-Factor #246

By: Peter David, Leonard Kirk, and David Yardin

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Price: $2.99

The Lowdown: X-Factor is like X-Force. They are pulpy team oriented books that have flourished because they are more independent than the main X-books always caught in some kind of event. This particular X-Factor issue is focusing on their magical little buddy, Pip. He is kind of like Doop in Wolverine and the X-Men. He is holding the group together more than they know.
