The Price Is Right Turns 40, Which Means All Of You Who Thought The Show Was At Least 50 Years Old Overbid, And Won’t Win The Showcase Showdown!

CBS News reports that epic Californian game show the Price Is Right has turned 40 years old!

3 Things Worse Things Than “The Price Is Right” Turning 40 Years Old

1. Nice grandmothers will come on the show and say they’ve been watching every episode for all 40 years, but win nothing, because they never retained what the price of anything ranging from new cars to a box of Rice-A-Roni actually cost.

2. Despite not winning anything, those same loyal viewers will wind up in the Showcase Showdown, where they have also not learned that the Showcase with the elaborate theme, and a new Corvette, and a boat, and a second boat to keep the first boat company, is the most valuable Showcase, and should not be passed to the other contestant!

3. That for as long as we can remember during these 40 years, the show has felt necessary to specify that they are giving away a “new” car. Was there ever a game show giving away “used” cars, that required this language? We can just imagine the announcer exclaiming: “This 1994 Honda Accord is the most stolen car in America! Complete with cassette player, and revolutionary anti-locking brake system, and power windows this Showcase will be yours, if the Price Is Right!”
