My father had thirteen wives and more than fifty children . . .This is the haunting memoir of Anna LeBaron, daughter of the notorious polygamist and murderer Ervil LeBaron. Ervil’s criminal activity kept Anna and her siblings constantly on the run from the FBI. Often starving, the children lived in a perpetual state of fear—and despite their numbers, Anna always felt alone. Would she ever find a place she truly belonged? Would she ever be anything other than the polygamist’s daughter?Filled with murder, fear, and betrayal, The Polygamist’s Daughter is the harrowing, heart-wrenching story of a fatherless girl and her unwavering search for love, faith, and a place to call home.

If you know me, you know I love all the television shows about polygamy and if there’s a special 20/20 or whatever, I’m watching it.  For some reason the whole idea of polygamy just makes me curious and I can’t seem to learn enough about it. When I saw this book, The Polygamist’s Daughter by Anne LaBaron, I knew I just had to read it too!

Ms. LaBaron’s story takes readers on a very powerful and emotional ride.  She’s the daughter of the infamous Evril LeBaron,  the deceased leader of a Mormon fundamentalist group supporting polygamy. She shares her life story of the polygamist cult she grew up in. LeBaron tells her story of enduring and overcoming life situations beyond the realm of what others could imagine.

Ms. LaBaron’s story is also inspiring and motivating. It’s almost unbelievable that a child actually had to go through and deal with so much at such a young age.  Despite where she’s been, Ms. LaBaron shares the hope of overcoming and leaning on God to help you persevere.

By sharing the journey of her life in this book, Ms. LaBaron helps readers realize that each of us have the power within ourselves if we work for it and take the first step toward a healthy, blessed and fulfilled life. Readers will definitely have a roller coaster of emotions as they read this story of Ms. LaBaron’s real life events.

Once you start reading The Polygamist’s Daughter, you won’t want to put it down until you’ve finished.
