I read some very negative reviews about this pub and its food. Pre-warned we only visited for a beer. You enter via the dining area which looked rather functional. We sat at the bar for a beer, well, a beer for Mrs.R but I was driving so a soft drink for me. There was a decent selection of beer on tap, and in bottles.
Deciding not to have lunch there, turned out to be a wise move, because the smell of cheap cooking oil wafted out of the kitchen and lingered in the bar.
The Pilot Inn is a nice place to stop for a drink, but nothing else. There is ample parking, and it is right on the shale beach, perfect for a stroll by the sea.
